The LNotes-L Archive

This is a partial archive of the original iteration of LNotes-L, the world's foremost resource for user-to-user information about Notes, Domino and all the associated technologies. This archive was assembled from the messages I've received on the list since joining from my current ISP in October, 1996. I have removed all encoded attachments and graphics (that stuff that shows up as Base64 encoding and junks up the list), and have tried to retain as much original content as possible. All messages here have a section at the bottom which will display the raw message header.

Why not use the archives on the listserv host? Well, it turns out that listproc on ozzie.notesnic.net has archives that only go back to January, 2000. No one seems to know where the list archive that used to be maintained at Notes.Net went when IBM integrated NotesNet into the regular IBM support infrastructure.

Worse, in the spring of 2007, the original LNotes-L list was shutdown with little actual warning and the archives were taken offline. This site is a record of the list from late 1996 to sometime in 2002. If you're after historic stuff, there it is.

However, there's a new LNotes-L list, done as a Yahoo Group. You can visit that site and join right here:

Be aware that many of the thousands of subscribers to the classic LNotes-L have not made the jump to the new list. If you're one of the people who were wondering where LNotes-L went, well... that's where it went. Come on over!

By the way: if you have access to the list archives prior to October, 1996, let me know. I may have them somewhere, but haven't located them yet. More will come.
