The music that's on right now: Louis Prima, "Just A Gigolo," 1957

The Lotus Stuff Store is really eating at me.  Are we really looking at the last bubbles on the surface as what was Lotus' identity disappears into the big blue pool?

Before the party last night, I took a few minutes to slip on over to the i-Series hospitality suite in Dolphin.  Aside of the fact that the entire Binary Tree crew was on hand, making it look a little like the Binary Tree hospitality suite, I was still distressed at the number of uncomfortable-looking longtime IBMers.  If i-Series is really going to be the platform on which IBM makes its technology statements, and if Al Zollar really wants to bring that platform along in terms of wider acceptance, I'm not saying "get rid of the old gray-haired white men," I'm saying, Al, get them to loosen the hell up!  Most of them look like they are just horribly embarrassed to be in a shirt with an open collar, and I bet the closet was full of the jackets to those tailored suit pants they were all wearing.

I'm not spilling any beans about the closing session.  You'll find out soon enough.  It will be interesting and worthwhile as always, and those of you who go blasting out of here on Thursday morning are going to miss something again!

The screamers in the next room have miraculously not lit up so far this morning.  Maybe they are already at the airport making somebody else's life hell.

I need to go get something to eat.  I'm feelin unfocused and euphoric and right now, that's A Bad Thing.  Have a few more sessions to hit and a lot more people to talk to, and then I can start the windup for the finish.  And try to figure out what I'll do about the letdown that inevitably happens afterward.
