Interesting about the Dolphin parking, I stayed completely (non Disney) offsite and presumed I wouldn't be able to get in. If you stay at ANY Disney hotel the passkeys look the same and you can get waved through - Y&B is no charge for resident parking.

I did try parking at the Boardwalk but was turned away from the main car park - I was allowed to park at the overflow across the road though.

That carpark is FREE and it only takes a few minutes to walk through to the Swan / Dolphin.

Roy, I didn't hate the job. To the last day I was there, and to this day now, I think I still had a few more miles left in me. I ended up working with "managers" who decided, in that weird, American Federal Government way, that because they drifted into being my "manager," they automatically must be better at everything than their underlings. That included my job.

In short, I loved what I did, or I wouldn't have stayed there all those years. What I hated was the idea that what we (me and my team) did needed to be "managed" by somebody who used to take claims from little old ladies in Pittsburgh.

What sucks is that I really, really tried to open this particular "manager's" eyes. He actually attended Lotusphere. They all did. Some of them understood; some didn't. This particular person was one of those old-skool Taylor-time-study types who valued the process more than the results the process produced. And he distrusted any process he could not understand. As you all well know, software development can't be boiled down to a process, it's part inspiration, big part skill and experience, and part black arts.

In an odd way, I feel sorry for them and a little disappointed that piss-ants were put in the position to decide whether I was fit to work for the people of the United States of America.

It's never easy leaving a job but when the job starts to affect your health it's time to leave. I swore I would never stay in a job that caused me to pop Malox like candy. The only drawback is the position you move to may not be any better as I have found out the hard way.
It's good to hear you are doing better though. Hang in there and good luck on your new job search. Hope you find one that works out good for you.

Sorry to hear you spent the last 17 years at a job you really hated. I am glad to hear your health is better. The job can be replaced, your life cannot. You made the right decision and regardless of how long it takes to get a new one, which in your case shouldn't be to long, no job is worth your life, marriage or sanity.

Sorry I won't be at Lotusphere to see your crazy session so have a drink for me and keep your chin up.

Thanks for this information. I'm still stuck and wonder if there's another solution I'm missing before I dump my 1020. I just upgraded to an iMac w/ OS X 10.6, and I've followed all the above instructions. It gets to the point where I download the original LJ 1020 driver, then stops me with the message that it can't be opened because there's a newer version on the computer. Damned if I can find it.

"I've found the answer!!!! This worked for me

1) Make sure your running 10.6.1
2) Download and Install the latest HP drivers here: { Link }
3) Go to System Preferences and add a new printer
4) Make sure your 1020 is plugged via USB
5) Make sure it says "Searching for new drivers"
6) In the Print Using drop down click "Select Printer Software"
7) Find the driver that says "HP LaserJet, 1.0.0.148"
8) Click Add and you should be good to go.

Please let me know what happens.

The only difference is that I found Driver 1.2.0.224 next to the 1022 listing in my printer driver preferences, and THIS WORKED FOR ME!!! Yay.

Yes, as many of you have commented, this driver no longer works with OSX as of 10.6 (Snow Leopard). I haven't found any way around it, so it looks like this printer's amusing four-year ride in my house has come to an end. I hope we've been able to get some of you to where you could use the thing on OSX since 2005, but it appears that that's the end of it. If you absolutely must continue using a 1020 on a Mac, do not upgrade to Snow Leopard. For me, the printer was a terrific deal way back when, so I don't feel all that sore about not being able to use it on my 10.6-equipped machines any more.

FYI: HP now makes the LaserJet P1005, which is listed on their site as Mac friendly and which can be found all over the place for about $110, which is even less than my 1020 was, and it's smaller. So, you have options.

I just found this great site by way of Google. Too bad the Search button can't be re-programmed.

Every special key works in XP, even Favorites. I will be trying it out in Vista and Windows 7 (I have multi-boot on my computer). Thanks very much. Where in heck did you find this driver file. It doesn't seem to exist anywhere else.

I am having the same problem with Snow Leopard (10.6). My printer disappeared from my system. I'm trying to install the drivers again, but my System Preferences hang while trying to add the printer.

Hi, Is it possible that this driver does not work with Mac OS 10.6? I had it working the other day on my MacBook Pro, and then I updated to Snow Leopard and now it doesn't work. It seems to think it's working ... the printer window says it's "printing" but nothing is happening on the printer itself. So I tried reinstalling after uninstalling (following the directions on the HP website), but reinstalling causes the Print/Fax window in the System Preferences to hang such that it is impossible to Force Quit out of it and I have to restart the computer! Any ideas?

THANK YOU! lol I've been casually researching flemish for a year now (unfortunately I'm really not in a position right now to own one) and I can't tell you how abysmal some of these sites are (if there are any top begin with). At first I thought the Breeders Association would be a great place to start, but maybe 15 rabbitries tops actually have websites. When I did visit them, it was like pulling teeth. Granted, I'm in my 20s, and a content manager, so my technology toolbox has a bit more in it than the age group you were talking about--still, it's frustrating. I would add that I thoroughly enjoyed the SMR site. It's very straightforward, and the fact that you can speak to the individual temperaments of your kits really says something about what you do. Keep on truckin'!!!!
